Vinegar + baking soda “fizz” cleaner
The hack
Mix baking soda and white vinegar into a fizzing paste or spray and use it as an all-purpose or oven cleaner.

Scout's verdict
The fizz is an acid neutralizing a base: it makes water, salt and CO₂ and cancels most of the cleaning power of both. In the TikTok oven recipe, over 99% of the baking soda is left after the fizz, so the baking soda and your scrubbing do the work. Consumer Reports’ range expert says a baking-soda-and-vinegar paste is fine on most glass cooktops, but the win is the mild abrasive, not the bubbles.
Evidence: The Conversation (chemistry analysis) · Consumer Reports
Bottom line: Skip the volcano. Use baking soda paste alone, let it sit 15 minutes, scrub.
⚠️ Safety
Never store the mix in a sealed bottle: the CO₂ builds pressure. Never add bleach to anything that contains vinegar.
